Consider a Spring Spruce-Up

While we’re experts at new construction and helping redesign a complete space, we also love to spruce up a room as the seasons change. The weather is changing, flowers are blooming, and it’s time for something special to help forget about winter. A few new accessories can pack a powerful punch and make a room feel new. We love blue and white because it works with so many other colors – from greys and tans to pinks and yellows. Here are a few spring spruce up ideas from us to you. And, if these new accessories aren’t for you, but you need another design eye, call us. We’ve got lots of new favorites we’d love to share!

For the kitchen, add some personality with a new colander from MacKenzie Childs. This hand-painted blue and white check with antique brass handles is perfect to sit on the counter filled with fresh fruit for a colorful display or a passel of lemons for a cleaner look (though everyone may ask for fresh-squeezed lemonade when they visit).

A statement piece, like this Chelsea House Blue Pagoda we found at High Point Market, draws the eye and a smile. At 25-inches high, it stands tall and proud on a console, chest of drawers or dining room sideboard. And, it’s on trend right now so everyone will be “ohhing” and “ahhhing” at your new find.

Pillow are the go-to accessory for changing the mood of any room. With the Carolina blue skies outside, it’s hard to not think of these two new favorite throw pillows from Ryan Studio for a living room. When choosing new pillows, consider a variety of sizes, but not too many. For a modern look, consider an odd number and for more traditional flair – four is usually perfect for a sofa.
