A Good Fit

A Good Fit

The phrase “a good fit” applies to so much in life – an outfit, a new friend, a new hobby are just a few examples where a good fit matters. Finding “a good fit” when hiring an interior designer brings a multitude of benefits and can save a lot of headache. Here are a few things questions to consider when you’re looking to partner with someone for your home, second home or office design:

  1. Do you like their design aesthetic? A designer’s photography on their website and social channels can give you a quick first look at his or her style. Is it along the same lines as what you want for your space? If yes – that’s likely a good fit.
  2. Is there chemistry? When you meet for the first time, do you like him to her? Did they make you laugh…did you not want the meeting to end? If yes – that’s likely a good fit.
  3. Do you trust them? Your designer will be spending your money, have entrance to your home, and be in charge of your most personal space. If you trust them – from reputation, accolades, reviews or from your initial interactions – it’s likely a good fit.
  4. Do you agree on budget? Make sure your expectations are aligned. Does the designer understand what you’re comfortable with and can they achieve your design desires within that budget? Have you expressed where you’re willing to increase budgets and where you’re not?

Consider these when choosing a designer to help you with your home or office design needs and you’ll be well on your way to a space that makes you happy. We’d love to meet with you to see if Brooke & Birdie is “a good fit” for your next project!
